Connect Swym Wishlist Plus to Piing to use saved products during a store visit and afterwards. When a wishlisted item drops in price or comes back in stock, an enabled trigger can send a message through the customer's installed Apple or Google Wallet pass. No separate Piing app is needed.
Scope. This walkthrough covers Swym in the Piing Shopify app: Piing reads your connected Swym account and supported customer metafields, then checks Shopify inventory. Shopify webhooks and optionally connected Swym alerts can trigger messages. The connector set differs between Shopify and a Retail ID implementation, so if you are not on Shopify, start with Supported platforms.
How it works
- 01
You connect Swym in Piing with three credentials: your store's API endpoint, your PID, and your REST API key. Piing validates them live against your own Swym endpoint before saving anything.
- 02
At check-in, Piing reads the customer's wishlist from Swym using their Shopify email. It combines that with supported wishlist metafields and keeps product references for later stock and price changes.
- 03
Shopify webhooks provide the event. A price drop or return to stock can trigger your configured message for eligible customers watching that item, within your sending rules.
- 04
Write a useful Wallet message, such as "The jacket you saved is now on sale" or "Your saved linen shirt is back in stock". The device controls its final appearance.
- 05
At a mapped Shopify location, Piing can check saved variants against that store's stock and trigger an enabled Wallet message. Without a location mapping, the check uses stock across the shop; it does not establish availability at that particular store.
Wallet messages require an installed pass, available sending allowance and the customer's notification settings. A provider accepting a request does not prove that the customer saw it.
Setup
You need three values from the Swym Admin settings page or your Swym contact. If you cannot find them, Swym support will provide all three.
API Endpoint
https://swymstore-XXXX.swymrelay.com. Every Swym store has its own endpoint host.
PID
A long token, often containing slashes and equals signs. Paste it exactly as given.
API Key
Your Swym REST API key.
Then in Piing:
- 01
Go to Integrations.
- 02
In the Wishlist section, on the Swym Wishlist Plus card, click Manage.
- 03
Enter the API Endpoint, PID and API Key.
- 04
Click Connect.
Piing validates the credentials immediately. If something is wrong you get a specific error telling you which value to check, and nothing is saved until all three line up. Once connected, the page shows a Connected badge with Test Connection, Pause and Disconnect controls.
To receive supported stock and price alerts directly from Swym, use the optional Instant alerts from Swym section. Generate a secret and add the shown address and secret to your Swym alert settings. The Shopify inventory route still works without this connection.
Wallet message controls
Keep each message useful with Piing's sending controls and the Wallet platforms' limits:
Enable the supported wishlist event, customer-facing template and Wallet channel for the messages you want to send.
A per-pass message budget, 3 a day by default. Piing allows up to 5 for Apple; Google permits at most 3 notification-triggering messages per pass in a rolling 24 hours.
A minimum interval between pushes to the same pass, 60 minutes by default.
A priority order you can rearrange, so when a customer has several pending notifications the most valuable types send first.
Optional quiet hours so automated pushes do not fire overnight.
Messages over the budget are held, not sent or queued for the next day. Read the Wallet messaging guide for channel allowances and hold behaviour.
What this connector covers
Live today
Direct Swym wishlist reads at check-in, supported customer metafields, optional inbound Swym alerts, price-drop and back-in-stock Wallet messages, the location-aware stock check at check-in, and conversion tracking via the piing.wishlist.converted event.
Outside this setup
Save for Later and saved-cart signals are not included in this connector. Keep those journeys in Swym. If your implementation depends on one of them, confirm the scope with us before planning a rollout.
Common questions
Does this replace Swym's email and SMS alerts?
No. Swym keeps sending whatever you have configured. Piing can add Wallet messages for customers with a matching wishlist and an installed pass.
Where does the wishlist data come from?
Piing reads the connected Swym API at check-in, matching the customer's Shopify email. It combines those saved products with supported wishlist metafields and keeps references for later stock and price changes.
What happens if I disconnect?
Wishlist pushes stop. Passes keep working and other integrations are unaffected. You can Pause instead to keep the credentials saved.
Which Swym plan do I need?
You need REST API access on your Swym account. Ask your Swym contact to confirm and to provide the endpoint, PID and API key.
