Analytics and reporting 4 / 4
Card and pass analytics
Find Wallet distribution, pass-holder records and the geographic physical-versus-digital breakdown without mixing three different measures.
Piing separates Wallet distribution, pass-holder management and geographic reporting because they answer different questions. There is no single percentage that represents all three.
Distribution: are digital passes being added?
Open Wallet Studio, then Distribution to publish Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, share the customer claim route and see digital pass activity.
Use this page to understand whether customers are adding the pass and which platform they use. The Analytics overview also shows total Wallet passes and new passes added in the selected 7, 30 or 90-day period.
Pass holders: who is linked?
Open Pass holders for the member-level directory. It brings together customers linked to physical NFC cards and digital Wallet passes.
From here you can search for a holder, open the Shopify customer, inspect their linked identifier, export member links and correct a physical-card link. A customer may hold more than one form of identity, so platform totals should not be treated as a unique-customer total unless the screen explicitly says they are distinct holders.
Geography: where are holders based?
Open Analytics, then Geography for the recent location view. It uses a fixed 90-day window and shows:
- tap-ins by country;
- top cities;
- pass holders by country, split between physical and digital;
- the number of customers whose location could be resolved.
The page does not lead with an all-time physical-versus-digital card. That distribution question belongs with Wallet distribution and pass holders, while Geography stays focused on where recognised customers are based.
Country and city use the default address on the Shopify customer record. Shopify treats this as Protected Customer Data. Piing reads the necessary address fields on demand, aggregates the report in memory and does not persist each customer's city or country. If approval is unavailable, the geographic tables are hidden rather than replaced with guessed data.
Reading the figures carefully
- An issued pass is not automatically the same as an installed or recently active pass.
- A customer with both a physical card and a digital pass can appear in both platform groups.
- A holder without a default Shopify address cannot be placed in a country or city table.
- Message delivery and pass refreshes are reported separately from distribution.
Wallet passes are included without per-pass fees on Piing platform plans. Hardware, platform and optional Shopify app pricing are covered in Plans and pricing.
