Where to place Piing blocks in Shopify
Place the right Piing block on your storefront, new or legacy customer accounts, Thank you and Order status pages.
Piing supports Shopify’s new and legacy customer accounts. They use different editors and different blocks: adding a theme block does not automatically place a block in new customer accounts.
See the visual placement examples on the Piing product page.

| Where customers see it | Piing block | Where you add it |
|---|
| New customer accounts: Profile | Piing Digital Card | Checkout and accounts editor |
| New customer accounts: Order status | Piing Digital Card or Piing Thank You - Wallet | Checkout and accounts editor; choose one Wallet block to avoid duplicate invitations |
| Legacy customer account page | Piing Wallet Card | Theme editor, in a section that supports app blocks |
| Home, product, collection, cart or membership page | Piing Wallet Card | Theme editor, in a section that supports app blocks |
| Upgraded Thank you and Order status pages | Piing Thank You - Wallet | Checkout and accounts editor |
These are supported placement types, not a guarantee that a block has already been added to your store. Your selected theme section or Shopify page must expose a compatible slot.
Before adding a block
- Publish your pass in Wallet Studio → Distribution and enable the Wallet platforms you want to offer.
- Open Where your pass appears in Wallet Studio for the available routes and setup instructions.
- Preview changes in a duplicate theme or unpublished checkout configuration before publishing them.
New customer accounts
Open Settings → Checkout and edit the relevant configuration. In the checkout and accounts editor, choose Profile, open Apps and add Piing Digital Card. Save the configuration when the placement is ready.
The block can show the recognised customer’s tier, store visits and available Wallet actions. It uses your checkout and account branding. The storefront theme’s CSS does not style this native account extension.
You can also add a Piing block to Order status. Piing does not currently declare an Orders index or full-page account extension; do not assume it can be placed in every account location Shopify offers to other apps.
Legacy customer accounts and storefront pages
Open Online Store → Themes → Edit theme. Choose Legacy customer accounts → Customer account, or the storefront page you want. Add Piing Wallet Card within a section that accepts app blocks, then adjust the heading, colours and layout.
An older Liquid account template may not provide an app-block slot. Ask your theme developer to add a compatible section, or use the published pass-claim link in an appropriate account button. A legacy account is not the same thing as a legacy theme: check the actual template before promising a no-code placement.
The same theme block can appear on a home, product, collection, cart or membership page when the selected section supports it. A cart page and a cart drawer are different surfaces. Header, footer and drawer support depends on the theme; Piing cannot place the block into an arbitrary part of every theme.
Thank you and Order status
In the checkout and accounts editor, choose Thank you, then add Piing Thank You - Wallet from Apps. Repeat for Order status if you want the invitation there too. These placements need Shopify’s upgraded pages.
A guest may need to sign in before Piing can issue their customer-specific pass. Preview the guest and signed-in journeys separately. Existing pass holders should still be able to add a pass on another supported phone or reinstall it.
Shopify makes these post-purchase UI-extension surfaces available on Basic and above. This does not imply that Piing has a block inside the information, shipping or payment steps; those Shopify extension surfaces have separate Plus requirements and Piing does not currently target them. Links and integrations are different from app blocks
Email, SMS and printed QR use the published pass-claim route. Use claim links and QR codes for distribution outside Shopify pages.
Fuego and Shopify customer accounts
Fuego uses Shopify customer accounts. Those customers receive your Piing-issued pass, using the same Shopify customer identity and programme as your website.
If Fuego opens the Shopify-hosted account page and supports that page's app extensions, use the Piing Digital Card block there. Confirm this with Fuego and test it in the actual app; Shopify sign-in alone does not automatically render a Wallet button on a native screen.
For a Wallet button inside Fuego's own native account screen, Fuego's server can request the pass through the Piing Partner API after verifying the signed-in Shopify customer. Keep the partner key on the server. Open Apple's pass with a supported iOS pass handler or browser; open Google's save link in a supported browser. Fetch a fresh link for each attempt, including reinstalling or switching platforms.
Do not send a Piing partner key in browser code, the mobile app bundle or an email. Do not trust a customer ID sent by the device without checking the customer's Shopify session.
Piing: Alerts has its own storefront feed embed. It is not the Piing Wallet Card, and this account compatibility guide does not imply that the Alerts bell runs inside customer accounts.
Test before publishing
- Check the block on a phone and a desktop. Wallet actions must remain readable and should not overlap.
- Use a customer you control. Confirm their account, tier and visits where those values are shown.
- Test signed out, signed in, no pass yet and an existing pass holder. Do not treat an issued-pass record as proof that a phone still holds the pass.
- Add the pass on both iPhone and Android, then confirm the intended staff scan or check-in route works.
- If upgrading from legacy to new accounts, add the native Piing account block separately. Theme customisations do not transfer automatically. Shopify’s account upgrade guide.
