Billing through Shopify
How Piing, Piing: Intelligence and Piing: Alerts charges are approved and invoiced through Shopify.
The native Piing products use Shopify Billing. The merchant approves the charge inside Shopify admin and Shopify includes it on the store's invoice.
How approval works
- Install the relevant app using the installation route Piing provides.
- Choose the product plan or billing option inside the app.
- Review Shopify's approval screen, including the amount, currency, interval and any trial.
- Approve the charge.
- Return to the app and confirm the subscription is active.
Piing reflects a platform base and graduated additional-store rates. Intelligence reflects the selected profile-refresh plan; approved legacy field-unit agreements keep their existing terms. Alerts reflects Starter, Growth or Scale. Each app offers monthly or annual billing; the full annual charge is shown before approval.
Currency
- New Piing, Intelligence and Alerts subscriptions are charged in whole US dollars.
- Annual monthly equivalents are rounded down, saving at least 10%; the full year is charged upfront.
- Hardware, physical cards and managed reader services are quoted separately in USD.
- Existing subscriptions keep their approved amount, currency and terms until the merchant approves a change. Historical charges are not rounded or converted.
The site shows the currency in which each app charge is created. Shopify may present its own invoice and payment handling according to the merchant account.
Trials
Piing includes a 14-day trial when the relevant Shopify charge is approved. Alerts offers a 14-day trial to new subscribers on their first eligible subscription; changing plan or reinstalling does not repeat previously used trial days. Intelligence has no free trial and instead provides a five-customer preview before a paid run.
Invoices and payment details
Shopify issues the invoice and collects payment using the payment method attached to the Shopify account. Use Settings, then Billing in Shopify admin to review charges, download invoices or update the account payment method.
Changing the approved charge
Plan and interval changes begin inside the relevant Piing app and return the merchant to Shopify for approval where a new charge is required. The product should not be treated as upgraded until Shopify confirms the charge.
Not on Shopify
Retail ID is billed directly under its agreement, separately from Shopify Billing. See Billing for Retail ID.
