Trials and cancellation
Current trial routes, Intelligence preview access, cancellation and the data-handling steps that follow.
Trials and cancellation depend on the product and billing route.
Trials and preview
- Piing on Shopify: 14-day free trial.
- Piing: Alerts: 14-day free trial for new subscribers on their first eligible Starter, Growth or Scale subscription. Previously used trial days are not repeated when changing plan or reinstalling.
- Piing: Intelligence: no free trial. A five-customer preview is available before a paid run and does not consume the analysis allowance.
- Retail ID: any pilot, trial or phased rollout is set out in the direct agreement. It should not be assumed from the Shopify trial terms.
Shopify shows its trial terms on the charge-approval screen for the relevant app.
Cancelling a Shopify app
Start in the product's billing area and follow the Shopify cancellation route. Shopify remains the source for the approved charge, renewal date and invoice. Uninstalling an app can also affect its charge, but the merchant should confirm the subscription state in Shopify Billing rather than assume it ended.
A monthly cancellation normally prevents the next charge after the current paid period. An annual subscription remains subject to the annual term shown at approval.
Cancelling Retail ID
Use the cancellation route in the direct agreement, or contact the Piing team to confirm the renewal date and cancellation terms for your account.
Data after cancellation or uninstall
Cancellation, uninstall and customer-data deletion are related but not identical:
- The commerce platform remains the primary customer record.
- Piing retains or deletes operational records according to the product, record type, legal requirements and documented retention period.
- Merchants can request account deletion and help with customer data rights.
- Shopify-owned outputs, including relevant metafields, can be managed in the merchant's store.
- Connected destinations keep the events or values already sent to them according to their own retention settings.
Do not rely on a blanket claim that uninstall instantly removes every record in every system. Review Security, What data Piing stores and Uninstall and data deletion.
Before cancelling
- Export reporting or delivery history the team needs.
- Confirm whether Wallet passes or messages should remain active.
- Disable or replace CRM journeys that depend on Piing events.
- Review hardware ownership and store removal.
- Record the deletion and retention requirements for the merchant account.
