Getting started 3 / 6
Choose your setup
Pick the right Piing route for Shopify, Shopify POS, a non-Shopify stack, customer intelligence or storefront alerts.
The right starting point depends on the retailer's commerce platform and the first problem to solve. Each Piing product stands alone, and Shopify merchants can add the others later without replacing the systems they already use.
The four routes
- Piing for Shopify and Shopify POS. Branded Apple and Google Wallet passes for Shopify retailers, online, in store or both. Add customer recognition, visit analytics and attribution when you connect physical stores.
- Retail ID. The recognition and Wallet implementation for non-Shopify and bespoke retail stacks. The commerce, CRM, loyalty and event routes are scoped to the retailer's actual systems.
- Piing: Intelligence. A Shopify-only app that analyses order data, optional consented browsing signals and configured rules, then writes selected customer attributes to Shopify metafields.
- Piing: Alerts. A Shopify-only notification feed rendered in the merchant's theme, with first-party targeting, order attribution and optional browser push after shopper opt-in.
Which route fits
- You use Shopify and want branded Wallet passes. Start with Piing. No physical store is required, and the platform base includes unlimited passes. See the current pricing.
- You use Shopify and want to recognise customers in store. Start with Piing. It includes the Shopify POS extension and does not require a reader.
- You use another commerce platform. Start with a Retail ID scoping call. Recognition, Wallet and visit events stay the same, while the connections are designed around the stack you already run.
- You use Shopify and need better customer context. Start with Piing: Intelligence. It is software-only and does not require an in-store setup.
- You use Shopify and want a channel on your storefront. Start with Piing: Alerts. It runs in the theme and does not require Piing or Intelligence.
- You want more than one outcome. Add products in the order that matches the business need. They can share the Shopify customer record without being sold as one mandatory bundle.
What each route needs

Hardware is optional
Piing supports four practical recognition routes: a tablet kiosk, a Piing reader, printed QR signage and Shopify POS. A retailer can start with kiosk, sign or POS and add a reader later. Retail ID can use the same kiosk, signage and reader concepts where they fit the implementation.
Product boundaries
Piing and Retail ID provide recognition, Wallet passes and visit events. Piing: Intelligence and Piing: Alerts are Shopify-only because Intelligence writes its output into Shopify and Alerts renders inside a Shopify theme. Fuego can work alongside Piing as a mobile-commerce layer; it is not presented as Piing's loyalty engine.
